Membership Information

DRPS offers several membership levels:

  • Active Membership is open to all persons whose primary occupation in the state of Delaware is in the field of recreation, parks, natural and historic resources, and conservation in an executive, supervisory, or leadership capacity and to those lay persons serving on boards, commissions, departments, councils, agencies, and advisory councils within the field as long as the individual meets the active requirements of that affiliation and is willing to actively serve the Society. Active Members in good standing shall have the right to vote, hold office, committee chairmanships, and committee memberships.

  • Associate Membership is open to all persons involved in professionally planned leisure time activities in the field of recreation, parks, natural and historical resources, and conservation in the State of Delaware who are:

    A. Employed on a parttime basis which is not their primary occupation; or
    B. Lay persons who show an interest in the objective of the Society who are not serving on boards, commissions, councils, institutions, agencies, and advisory boards.

    All associate members are eligible to serve as committee members.

  • Student Membership is open to all persons who are fulltime students in a recognized college or university or high school students who activities and curriculum indicate career interest in the fields of recreation, parks, natural and historic resources, and conservation.

  • Contributing Membership is open to all individuals or organizations including commercial concerns who wish to maintain liaison with the Society.

  • Friend Membership is open to lay persons who wish to show their support of the objectives of the Society. Retired Membership is open to all persons whose primary occupation was in the field of recreation, parks, natural or historical resources and conservation in an executive, supervisory, or leadership capacity.
